Normal and Calamity relationship background

So I decided to talk about this pairing I originally created and what happened to it.

When Mr. Normal moved in Dillydale after the events of the second season, one of the people he met was Miss Calamity, whom despite having a few mishaps was friendly to him. One of the first things he wanted to start in his new life was drawing as he wanted to get back into it after missing out on it thanks to his school not letting him have any fun classes due to the standard test. Normal thought on Miss Calamity as he though she was kind, and decided to start sketches of her, but then started having feelings towards her and kinda drew some sketches of the two together. Miss Calamity didn't know about this until one day when Mr. Normal accidentally left his sketch book somewhere and Miss Calamity decided to hold onto it until she meets with him. She decided to peek inside and founded out the sketches. She was shocked as Mr. Normal did most of them on her, and wondered why he drew her, as she wasn't the best looking Little Miss. Mr. Normal kinda panicked after he found out he lost his sketch book, but was both relive and more shocked that Miss Calamity found out, and was worried that she get mad. Fortunately, Miss Calamity wasn't and decided to have a talk with Mr. Normal about his feelings about her. So they kinda started dating that and ended up pretty well.

But what happened to the ship? Well, while they didn't had a fallout with each other, they were dealing with their own personal struggles. Miss Calamity then realized that she forgot about they were together and they tried to rekindle, but it didn't had the same spark as it used to. Miss Calamity decided that the best way was to breakup, which Mr. Normal was hesitant as he still had feelings for her, but reluctantly deiced that she was right. Despite that, they still liked each other as friends, and the relationship wasn't a total lost as Miss Calamity was the reason Mr. Normal started liking to draw again. She ended up helping Mr. Normal with some advice which ended being more useful than Miss Helpful's, and suggested to him about leaving Dillydale for a while until things cooled down (this was prior to Normal/Bump and Normal/Naughty). Though Mr. Normal decided to give one last kiss to Miss Calamity before leaving, making it the first time they did prior to their breakup.

Whoo! That was a long story.

So I originally started this ship back when I first joined the fandom after starting my likeness of using MS Paint to draw the Mr. Men characters. Miss Calamity was one of the first I started drawing as this was after S2 ended and I was upset that she was removed thanks to Chorion. After I created a few OCs and my sona, I thought on a possible ship idea of my sona with Miss Calamity, which quite a few of my watchers and friends thought it was cute. Why I stopped it? There were a few contributing factors.

1. The self insert character shipped with another character issue. I didn't had a problem with this until finding out this years later when some people from the brony fandom often argue about shipping yourself with another character., making it mary-suish Granted, Miss Calamity was a cartoon crush I had, but because of how big that fandom was and how fans argue about, you can see why. Adding fuel to the fire was from a live chat my brother had with some of his friends (one of them Lachie) made fun about that, and represent it by portraying a Hornby Percy having sex with a ERTL lady, and I felt embarrassed about it. But then it's just dull if my sona cant' have any fun or drama, as that's a key component to make a decent character.

2. The relationship. So one of the things I wanted the ship was at least perfect, but also have some drama. Unfortunately, it ended up being more in lines similar to Happy/Sunshine, where nothing happens. There are some pairings some fans thought up that had some interesting dynamics, like Grumpy/Scary, but I didn't want to make the pairing ending up something fans would like at first, then ended up despising because of a tone shift with the characters. This is pretty much why fans of "Friends" hated the Ross/Rachel ship for a long time, because of the whole "Will they or won't" debate. This is kinda why I wanted to change things up a bit with the Normal/Bump ship, though at least not in the same way how "Friends" wrecked Ross/Rachael.

The background how Miss Calamity found out was based on a short story my one friend LittleMissKate wrote years ago that she removed afterwards.

I decided to do this after talking to MegaM18 as he wanted to know about the aftermath of this pairing after seeing on RP that dmonahan9 commented in one picture I did.

If you still like the pairing, that's great! I still like it, but I still need to think about relaunching it as there's two other ones I did recently.
