Thinking about buying Region DVDs

Hey there, so you wondered why I ask last post about DVDs?

Well, because of two reasons; Thomas and Anpanman.

For Anpanman, I wanted to see if I can buy one of the DVDs since after what happened a few weeks ago, and since TMS keep taking down their shows off the internet (love your animation, but please come down), the only legit way to watch them now is to buy their dvds. Aside from prices, the only drawback is that it's R2, and my laptop is only R1. I heard there's a way to change your protection, but you can do it after 5 times. My friend ZootyCutie also asked about it as well.

Thomas, well, kinda the same thing. Since HiT didn't released all their episodes in the US (S4, 10, and 11), I want to get a way to watch them. Plus, also to do screenshots if possible.

I'm not planning to get a region free DVD player at the moment since these dvds are for me and my brothers to watch (my sisters don't really too much, and they probably won't understand Japanese), but I do wanna know if there's a legit way to make your laptop region free without harming it. I heard from a few SIF users (and TheFattHatt) stated they used R2 dvds from America.

I also asked Magic DVD Ripper (since I got a legit copy of it a few years back) if the program can rip other region dvds, they said it does.

Also, I'm planning to fix my mother's old laptop. If there's no other option, then I'll just simply change that to R2 and just use that laptop to watch those dvds there.

I can recommend a tip for you for buying DVDs: If I want to buy anything from Japan that isn't available on a site that ships from Japan that can ship to the US or is cheaper than eBay, I use Big In Japan (biginjap.com/). It's cheaper than having Amazon Japan ship the item to you. All you have to do is pay a 500 yen ($4.02) fee for each order and in the notes section, send them the links of the items you have purchased. I've gotten a lot of great stuff off there. All of my Crayon Kingdom of Dreams items were purchased off there, for example.
I would just rip the DVD as soon as I get it. However, you can change your region on some computers to all regions. I tried it once on my older computer, and it worked wonders.
There's also the option of going to Mitsuwa, which has region-free versions of Japanese shows and anime movies. The ones in normal jewel cases ripped directly from the Japanese releases, but the ones that come in black, square box sets are recorded from Japanese TV and have the original commercials on them. A few other Japanese stores with Japanese DVD rentals (such as Sunrise Mart) do this too. Since you said once that you lived in Florida, here's one that may have what you want:
